Stock Up on Books for Summer Reading at the Book Fair This Week

Book Fair this week in the Hazel Wolf Library! This year we are partnering with Secret Garden Books in Ballard for our fair.  Parents can go to the Secret Garden website at:

You can shop online or just see what will be available at the Library.  Instructions are available on the landing page of the website.  The virtual Book Fair where families can shop and purchase books through the Secret Garden website runs simultaneously.  If families order books through the site, they will be delivered to school for students to bring home and the Hazel Wolf Library still receives a portion of the sales!

Students can shop at the Book Fair before school, during lunch recess and after school.  Classes will also be able to browse during their regular library times.  Dr. V will provide students with forms so they can create wish lists and families can budget and send appropriate funds with students (or shop together after school every day and until 6pm on Wednesday).

Families can also purchase books from teacher wish lists for their classrooms!  Dr. V will be accepting credit cards, checks and cash.  A portion of all proceeds will go directly to the Hazel Wolf Library Fund to help build our collection 😊

Fill the Truck

Let’s raise money for Hazel Wolf K-8 PTSA by giving up stuff we really don’t need anymore!

We are partnering with Seattle Goodwill to hold a donation drive.

Clothing, jewelry, household items, electronics: you can bring almost anything to the donation drive, provided it is not hazardous waste, in need of repair, furniture or a TV weighing over 50 pounds.

Donations to Seattle Goodwill support its free Job Training and Education programs. Last year, Seattle Goodwill provided free training to over 13,375 people, 74 percent of which were below the Federal Poverty Line. Giving to Goodwill is also good for the environment. Last year Seattle Goodwill recycled over 60 million pounds of donations that otherwise might have ended up in landfills.

So clean up your basements, organize your garages and straighten your closets. It’s time to bring your treasures to the donation drive at Hazel Wolf K-8 along 12th Ave NE on Sunday April 24, 2022 from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Almost to Our Goal!

Come on Wolf Pack! It’s your last chance to donate to the direct appeal fund drive that ends on Thursday. Right now we’re at 68% of our goal with $24,000 left to raise in 3 days. If you haven’t donated yet, please do! If you’ve already donated, do it again! This money goes to support aides, tutors, and important programs for next year. Furthermore, if you enter now, your child could win the raffle and be able to design an experience for the staff raffle team.

Design Your Own Staff Experience Raffle Prize!

We have a new raffle prize for direct appeal donation!

Make a donation to support Hazel Wolf’s important programs and be entered to win a special raffle prize – your child and a few friends can choose an experience for the staff raffle team to complete. This could mean that your child can teach the staff a new Tik Tok dance, have a free throw contest, hit them with a pie in the face, or come up with some other fun experience. We’ve currently raised $41,000 or 55% of our goal with less than two weeks to go. It’s time to step up, make a donation of any amount by sending a check to school (payable to “Hazel Wolf K-8”) or donate online here: To find out more information about how Direct Appeal Donations will be spent visit: Special thanks to our corporate sponsors: Amrit Burn Orthodontics, Emerald Center for Integrative Medicine, Little Fish Swim School, North Seattle Orthodontics and Roosevelt Vision.

Direct Appeal Campaign Deadline Extended!

Come on, Wolfpack!

We heard from several families they did not know the Direct Appeal was happening, so we are extending the deadline to March 31, 2022. Thank You to those who have already donated (90 families or 13% of our community) raising $30,000 or 40% of our goal. If each family contributes $110/student then we’ll reach our goal of $75,000. We have new raffle prize in the works, guaranteed to be kid-pleasers! To donate send a check to the school made payable to “Hazel Wolf K-8” or donate online here: To find out more information about how Direct Appeal Donations will be spent visit: Special thanks to our corporate sponsors: Amrit Burn Orthodontics, Emerald Center for Integrative Medicine, North Seattle Orthodontics and Roosevelt Vision.

2022 Direct Appeal Campaign

It’s the time of year when the PTSA raises money to fund the programs and services that enrich our children’s lives, engage our families, support our teachers, and help our community. This year our goal is to raise $75,000, which is the equivalent to our typical auction proceeds, but even more importantly, we want 100% participation. So even if you only give a dollar, we want to see your contribution. The campaign runs from February 28th to March 13th. There will be raffle prizes for those who donate. Special thanks to our corporate sponsors, Amrit Burn Orthodontics and Emerald Center for Integrative Medicine, and Roosevelt Vision Source. Click here to donate:
