Volunteers Needed for Harvest Festival

The Harvest Festival is coming up on Sunday, October 27 from 12pm-3pm. To make it a successful event, we need folks to help with set up, games, food, and clean up. The volunteer duties are split into 2 shifts. This way, you can help for half of the festival and spend the other half enjoying it with your family! Thank you to those who have already signed up to volunteer.

If you have questions, please contact the events team at communityevents@hazelfwolfk8.org.

Help our Community Thrive: Join the PTSA Board!

Are you looking for a rewarding experience that brings you closer to the inner workings of our school, and offers a deeper understanding of how and why decisions are made?

Do you have skills you’d love to share, and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of our students, staff and families?

Are you interested in helping build a thriving, connected community here at Hazel Wolf K-8?

The PTSA Board is the place to be! We continue to need great people to help develop, plan, organize and promote our programs, events and initiatives. As a priority, in preparation for the 2024-25 school year, the following open positions need to be filled:

Co-Treasurer – This person helps with all aspects of accounting, from preparing and presenting budgets, to tracking and recording income and expenditure, and keeping accurate, detailed records.

Communications – From updating our website to posting on social media, writing blog posts to designing flyers for events, this position helps keep our community in the know.

Community Events – If you’re passionate about planning social events that bring our community members together, this is the board position for you!

Fundraising – Do you love organizing innovative and fun ways to raise money for a good cause? Join the board as Fundraising Coordinator and help us continue raising the funds that make great things happen for students, staff and families in our community!

To express your interest in any of the positions listed above, please email Christa Kleiner, our current PTSA Board President, or text her at 206-335-2497.

If you’d like to help but don’t see something that fits, Christa would still love to here from you! Let her know what skills you’d like to share, or if you have ideas for ways we can make our school and community great.

Staff/Teacher Appreciation Cookie Exchange – December 14th!

As the holidays approach, we want to take a moment to appreciate our wonderful teaching and administrative staff, and show gratitude for all they do to nurture our students!

We’re hosting a cookie drive on Thursday, December 14th! We hope to provide each Hazel Wolf teacher and staff member with a dozen cookies to send them off on winter break with a smile on their face.

Can you help with a donation of homemade or store-bought cookies, and/or volunteer your time to help with set up and clean up?

Volunteer Orientation: Dates and Times

Please note that there is an additional step to the Volunteer Process at Hazel Wolf.  We love having volunteers at the school, but we have very strict guidelines that we have to follow in order to have anyone volunteer in any capacity at Hazel Wolf.  The steps to become a volunteer at Hazel Wolf are as follows:

Fill out the volunteer paperwork and be approved by our Volunteer Coordinator, Yolanda Jackson.  Ms. Jackson keeps the list of approved volunteers.

Attend a Volunteer Orientation with Principal Breuder prior to final approval.  The safety and security of Hazel Wolf students school is the highest priority, which includes our Principal meeting with the adults that come into the school.
