Staff Appreciation Week is right around the corner (May 8-12)!
We’ve got some fun PTSA sponsored events and some plans where we’ll need help from our families! Check out how you can help:
Weekend Prior – May 6 & 7 – Call for all chalk artists to chalk up our front door/sidewalk area. Would be an awesome class or grade-level event to build community. Sign up here:
Watch for more detailed news from your room reps – most importantly, have FUN and let’s show these teachers and staff how much we love and appreciate them!
Hazel Wolf K-8 School: Thanks to everyone who was able to participate in our Community Discussion on May 2! The comments and the questions we received from the community were so helpful!
Ms. Nelsen provided an update about anticipated changes for next year and discussed lessons learned from the threats of violence made in our middle school earlier this year. Our PTSA has taken the feedback from the community to make sure the next budget reflects our priorities.
Thanks to the board for helping facilitate small group conversations and Kim Steffensmeier for hosting the event. We will soon be sharing the powerpoint slides along with a small survey to assure all caregiver voices are heard.
Our goal for the Hazel Wolf K-8 2023 Direct Appeal campaign is $75,000, which is equivalent to the proceeds of our typical auction. To reach our goal, we are asking each family to donate $125 per student (or just $10.50/month) in honor of Hazel Wolf’s 125th Birthday on March 10th.
Please join us in the Cafetorium (or Via Zoom) from 6:30 – 8:00 pm on January 18th for the PTSA General Session. The agenda for the meeting will include discussion of the process involved in hiring a new principal since Principal Nelsen is retiring. Several members of the board will also present about what they are working on and how members of the community can get involved. We hope to see you there!
