Do you have a 5th grader (rising 6th grader) this year heading to Jane Addams Middle School (JAMS) in the fall?
Would you like to help support JAMS students? Have you ever considered getting more involved with the PTSA?
The Jane Addams Middle School Parent Teacher Student Association (JAMS PTSA) is currently seeking candidates to serve on its board.
There are open roles ranging from formal elected positions to appointed committee leads—there’s space for every family to get involved. Key activities include connecting the community, fundraising, deciding how best to allocate funds to support students, assisting with school events and programs, and promoting upcoming activities.
Take a look at the form and consider nominating yourself or another family member by end of day, May 30, 2025.
There have been many community members asking how they can advocate for our school and education in general. Here are some easy ways you can stay informed or have your voice heard:
https://www.seattlestudentoptions.org/ – Seattle Student Options Coalition. For updates regarding option schools and differentiation options for students within Seattle School District. This group is focused on building advocacy for Hazel Wolf to stay open, maintain or increase staffing, and enroll students to our physical capacity.
Email Seattle School Board President Topp – As you’ve likely seen, the district has projected enrollment numbers for 2025-2026 to drop, which will lead to additional loss of staff, because they are not moving students off the waitlist. Email our school board to ask the district to please move the waitlist to fill our school to capacity and not lose more families to private school options.
April 5th 2025 – A date plan for advocacy on a variety of topics including education. There will be many options to talk with state representatives this day. One easy way is to phone or email. https://5calls.org/ (a super easy way to reach out quickly for those of us who are introverts.). Find your state representative: https://app.leg.wa.gov/memberemail/
