Did you know second grade parent, Holly, is leading a playground improvement project and working with staff to add bright, colorful designs to the playground cement? The PTSA is providing funds for the paint. Look out for a more colorful playground later this school year!

PTSA Updates

Spring Masquerade Auction: Come in Whatever Makes You Feel Most “You!”

The Spring Masquerade Auction is just weeks away! Show up in whatever lets you shine, whether thatโ€™s an old prom dress or living up to PNW chic, just don’t forget the mask! And if you do, weโ€™ll have a mask-making station ready for you at the event.

All auction funds support Hazel Wolf programs that benefit students and staff daily, including outdoor learning & field trips, student tutoring support, classroom & program grants, Racial Equity Committee, family support programs, and community-building events

Hereโ€™s a quick rundown:

Dessert Dash Treats and Day of Volunteers Needed for Auction

  • ๐Ÿฐ Dessert Dash Needs: Weโ€™re looking for 20 homemade or store bought desserts
    • Dessert Drop off: Saturday, March 21st between 11am-3pm at Magnuson Hanger 30 (6310 NE 74th Street)
  • ๐Ÿ™Œ Volunteer Needs: We need help with set up, raffle, drink, and game sales during the auction, and clean up.  There are multiple volunteer time slots!  
  • Sign up to donate a dessert or help out

๐Ÿ“ฃMarch Student Shout Out

For our March Student Shout Out, weโ€™re celebrating the Reflections Arts Contest participants:

  • 4th Grade: Kwanzi -“The View”
  • 7th Grade: Alexander – “My Home”, Caio -“Tanka”, Freya-“I’m Just Here”, Sabrina -“Untitled”
  • 8th Grade: Winslow -“Exploding Knowledge”

Their creativity and hard work truly shine! Alexander and Freya’s entry advanced to the state level.

This year the Seattle Council PTSA received art from 14 schools and 95 artists.

Self-declare for the Hazel Wolf K-8 PTSA Executive Board Nominating Committee

At the March 26 General Session meeting, PTSA members will elect 2โ€“3 people to serve on the PTSA Nominating Committee. This committee is responsible for identifying candidates for 2026โ€“2027 PTSA Executive Board positions, including President, Co-Treasurer, Communications, Community Events, and Fundraising.

Join Our Green Team

Letโ€™s help our students understand the impact of their choices through hands-on recycling and composting. Weโ€™re looking for volunteers to assist in the lunchroom, helping children learn the simple “system” of sorting waste. Help us teach our kids the practical science of taking care of our planet! Neurodivergent Community Group Meeting, Mar. 19

The Neurodivergent Community Group Meeting invites parents of neurodiverse children to a meeting on Thursday, March 19 from 6โ€“8pm to connect, share experiences, and build community while learning strategies to support and advocate for their kids.

Spring Masquerade Auction, Mar. 21

Join us for our Spring Masquerade Auction at Magnuson Hanger 30 from 5:30pm-9:30pm. Event is for 21+. Get your tickets today!

Cirque Du Soleil, ends Mar. 22

This is the last month to see Cirque du Soleil ECHO. The PTSA has secured a group rate for performances between January 30 and March 22. Purchase ECHO tickets before it’s too late!

PTSA Racial Equity meeting, Mar. 26

The next PTSA Racial Equity meeting will be on March 26 at 5:30 PM in the library. Childcare will be available. A pasta dinner will be served before the general PTSA meeting, which follows our committee meeting.

We encourage committee members to stay for dinner and attend the general PTSA meeting afterward.

PTSA General Session, Mar. 26

Join us Thursday, March 26 from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the library to get updates from the Principal and PTSA, as well as a preview of upcoming events. 

  • Dinner will be served: Spaghetti (vegetarian and non-vegetarian), salad, bread and dessert
  • Special Guest: Mindfulness Session with Su-Wen Yang
  • Childcare will be provided!

Ridwell Plastic Film Pick-ups, Ongoing

We earned free Ridwell plastic films pick-ups this academic year. Drop off your clean and dry plastic films in the Ridwell bin by the school entrance anytime. Learn what items Ridwell can accept. 

Shoe Recycling, Ongoing

Drop off old and worn-out shoes next to the Ridwell bin by the school entrance anytime. You can also find a location to recycle many other textiles near you.
