How the PTSA Supports the Hazel Wolf Community

We are at the halfway mark for the 2024 Blue Envelope campaign and have raised 25% of our goal. Thank you to those who have donated.

During the 2024-2025 school year, the PTSA will continue to support four major areas of focus:

  • Staff Grants: Every full-time teacher at Hazel Wolf receives a PTSA Classroom Grant of $400, allowing them to enhance the learning experience of their students. The grant can be used for classroom supplies, curricula, books, software, and website or magazine subscriptions. PTSA Grants also support the Engineering, Art, Music, and Physical Education programs.
  • Tutoring: The PTSA provides funding for seven tutors working with students in 1st-8th grade. Tutors work with individual students and small groups. Each week we provide over 100 hours of support for our elementary and middle school students.
  • Outdoor Education & Field Trips: PTSA helps fund class field trips for all grades, as well as overnight trips like Nature Bridge for grades 4-8.
  • School & Community Events: From the Fall Harvest to Field Day to Multicultural Night and everything in between, the PTSA helps support events that help strengthen the Hazel Wolf community.
  • Kindergarten Jump Start: SPS recently pulled back funding from Jump Start programs around the city. PTSA will cover these costs to preserve this experience for our youngest students.

Our contribution request is $240 per student, or $20/month.

Feeling Grateful for… the Virginia Inn!

During the first day of a busy St. Patrick’s Day weekend, Seattle’s iconic Virginia Inn generously donated 50% of proceeds to our PTSA. We’re thrilled to be able to share that, as a result of this incredible kindness, we received a donation of $4,623!

Craig Perez – co-owner of the historic restaurant and bar, and a Hazel Wolf 4th grader parent – was the man behind the idea for this wonderful event, and we can’t thank him and the Virginia Inn team enough for their support of our school community.

Thanks also to the families who came out on March 16th and enjoyed food and drinks from the Inn’s delicious menu. We hope you had a fun downtown adventure with family and friends!

Looking for a brunch spot to kick off your weekend? Look no further than Seattle’s iconic Virginia Inn!

This Saturday, March 16th, 50% of the Inn’s proceeds will be donated to our PTSA, thanks to the incredible generosity of Craig Perez – co-owner of the historic restaurant and bar, and a Hazel Wolf 4th grader parent.

Browse menus and plan your visit at https://virginiainnseattle.com

Please go enjoy an amazing brunch, lunch or drink, knowing you’ll also be helping raise funds that the PTSA will use to support a variety of programs that make a real difference for students, staff and families.

And, since weather reports suggest we’ll have a beautiful Pacific Northwest day on our hands, why not make a day of it and enjoy other downtown favorites such as Seattle Art Museum, Pacific Science Center, or the Olympic Sculpture Park?

Cheers to delicious brunches in historic hotspots, and a fabulous way to kick-off St. Patrick’s Day weekend – plus, HUGE thanks to Craig and the Virginia Inn team!
