Upcoming January PTSA Events
Happy New Year! We’re excited to start 2025 with a variety of events this January and hope you can join us for some of them!
ADHD Parent Support Group, Jan. 9
January’s meeting will be held on Thursday, January 9, 4-6pm in the Library. This group provides education, resources, and support to parents and guardians of students with ADHD. It meets monthly on the second Thursday of each month. If you have questions or would like more information before attending, please reach out to Leslie Schuyler at luschuyler@gmail.com.
General PTSA Meeting, Jan. 22 Featuring Amy Lang from Birds & Bees & Kids
Join us on Wednesday, January 22nd, from 6:30-8:30pm in the Cafetorium for updates from Principal Breuder and the PTSA. Amy Lang from Birds & Bees & Kids will be our guest speaker. She will share how to make sure you (and not the internet) are your child’s go-to birds and the bees expert! Parents will learn:
- Simple, low-tech things you can do to keep kids safer online
- How to talk about being safe online
- Why monitoring and filtering are so important
- How birds and bees talks keep your kids safer online
If you need an interpreter, please let us know via president@hazelwolfk8.org. Childcare will be provided for Hazel Wolf students.
NEW! Seattle DOT Sidewalks/Walkways Workshop, Jan. 25 9am
The Seattle Department of Transportation is holding a workshop in our neighborhood to discuss new sidewalks/walkways funded by a transportation levy. The event will begin at the school at 9am and we’ll chat, then take a walk around the neighborhood. All community members are welcome!
K-5 “Ready. Set. GLOW” Dance, Jan. 31
K-5 families, put on your dancing shoes and join us on Friday, January 31, from 6:30-8:30pm (corrected time) in the Cafetorium for the K-5 “Ready. Set. GLOW” Dance! Wear your favorite white or neon clothes and get ready to dance the night away to kid-friendly tunes!
Volunteers are needed to help make the dance a memorable experience for our students. Please consider signing up to volunteer.
TerraCycle School Recycling Drive, now through Apr. 30th
The TerraCycle School Recycling Drive continues this month. TerraCycle, a leader in recycling hard-to-recycle materials. We are collecting four categories: drink pouches & straws, squeezable pouches & caps, oral care, and air care products. See what items can be collected here. Please bring your items to the labeled recycle bins by the school entrance. Email parent volunteer Koko at estem@hazelwolfk8.org with questions.
