Your Donations in Action
Did you know your donations help pay for a subscription to the iXL platform for Ms. Natarajan’s middle school Math Lab? iXL gives students practice with math skills that match their grade level and learning goals. Thanks to your support, students are using the program and seeing real benefits in their learning.
Volunteer Opportunities
Staff Appreciation Week, May 5-9
Staff Appreciation Week is coming up quickly. Below are some things we need volunteers for!
- Monday (5/5): Coffee, tea, and italian sodas provided by the PTSA – we need a couple runners to deliver orders to staff. Sign up here!
- Tuesday (5/6): “Taco” bout our great staff! Please sign up to contribute to the taco bar – items should be delivered ready to eat, and please make sure to label your dishes to pick up after school
- Wednesday (5/7): Our staff is the sweetest of the bunch! Sign up to bring some fruit, yogurt, or baked goods to the staff on Wednesday morning.
- Thursday (5/8): Thank your teachers for helping you bloom! Bring potted plants or a bouquet of flowers for your class teacher and support staff. Other gifts are also welcome.
- Friday (5/9): PTSA will provide lunch for staff.
Field Day, June 13

Join the PTSA Board
Want to get involve with the PTSA? We’re looking for a Co-Treasurer and a Fundraising Lead. Contact Co-Presidents Heather Eliav and Stephanie Paolone at president@hazelwolfk8.org with any questions.
Co-Treasurer – This person will help with all aspects of accounting, from preparing and presenting budgets, to tracking and recording income and expenditure, and keeping accurate, detailed records.
Fundraising – Do you love organizing innovative and fun ways to raise money for a good cause? Join the board as Fundraising Coordinator and help us continue making great things happen for students, staff and families in our community!

PTSA Resource Survey, June 14
Please complete the survey by June 14th. Fill out a survey for each child that is enrolled at Hazel Wolf.
The survey is intended to help the PTSA allocate funding in the way that best fits our students’ needs, given the funding cuts happening next year.

ADHD Parent Support Group, May 8
May’s ADHD Parent Support Group meeting is Thursday, May 8 in the Library from 4-6pm. If you’re a parent or guardian of a student with ADHD, this group provides education, resources, and support. Please reach out to Leslie Schuyler at luschuyler@gmail.com with questions.

Join our Hazel Wolf PTSA/Community Funding Meeting (Thursday, May 14th, 5:30-6:30pm), in the library or online, to discuss next steps for programs facing cuts from the district and state.
Skate Night, May 23
Get ready to roll—Skate Night is coming up! Join us Friday, May 23rd from 5pm-7pm at Lynwood Skate and Bowl (6210 200th St SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036) for a fun-filled night! It’s a great chance for Hazel Wolf families to connect and for kids to have a blast outside of school. $12 for regular skates, an additional $4 for inline skates. Skatemate (walker) – additional $6
Ridwell Plastic Film Drive, through the End of the School Year
Bring your collection of thin, stretchy plastic film (think grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, plastic mailers) and drop them in the Ridwell bin by the school entrance anytime. Learn what types of plastic film can be accepted.
When 10 families sign up for Ridwell doorstep pick up by May 23rd via https://get.ridwell.com/hwk8, our school will earn plastic film pickup ALL next year!
TerraCycle School Drive
Thank you to those who participated in recycling through the TerraCycle school drive initiative. For future reference, you can find free recycling programs on TerraCycle website https://www.terracycle.com/en-US/brigades.
