Spring is in the air and April is here! The PTSA has some exciting events and updates for the community this month.
Your Donations in Action
Did you know that your donations help fund substitutes for 5th grade teachers, allowing them to have a planning day for Nature Bridge? Nature Bridge is an overnight environmental experience in the Olympic National Forest for 5th graders.
Upcoming PTSA Events
Neurodiversity, Autism, and Early Development, Apr. 10
Join us Thursday, April 10th, from 6-8 p.m. in the Cafetorium for an educational event hosted by the ADHD Parent Support Group and UW Autism Center, for parents, caregivers, and teachers. Director Annette Estes, Ph.D., and John Ketchum, M.Ed., BCBA, will present on autism diagnosis, developmental differences, and neurodiversity. Participants can also discuss how to support neurodivergent students.
This event is free, but please RSVP via https://tinyurl.com/April10RSVP so the event organizers know how many people to expect. Snacks will be provided, and K-5 students are welcomed to play games or color in our gym while their guardians enjoy the presentation. Please email Leslie Schuyler at luschuyler@gmail.com if you have questions.
PTSA General Session, Apr. 22
The PTSA General Session is Tuesday, April 22nd, from 6:30-8pm in the Cafetorium. April’s meeting will include updates from Principal Breuder and PTSA committee members, plus a look-ahead to upcoming events, and budget information. Childcare & snacks will be provided. We hope to see you there!
TerraCycle School Recycling Drive, now through Apr. 30

Ridwell Plastic Film Recycling Drive Continues!
Good news! The PTSA is still collecting plastic film for Ridwell! Drop your collection of thin, stretchy plastic (think grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, plastic mailers) in the Ridwell bin by the school entrance anytime, or meet us every other Friday at school drop off. Learn what types of plastic film can be accepted.
When 10 families sign up for Ridwell doorstep pick up via https://get.ridwell.com/hwk8 by May 23rd, our school will earn plastic film pickup ALL next year!
