There have been many community members asking how they can advocate for our school and education in general. Here are some easy ways you can stay informed or have your voice heard:
- https://www.seattlestudentoptions.org/ – Seattle Student Options Coalition. For updates regarding option schools and differentiation options for students within Seattle School District. This group is focused on building advocacy for Hazel Wolf to stay open, maintain or increase staffing, and enroll students to our physical capacity.
- https://www.alltogetherforseattleschools.org – Seattle Schools Information & Advocacy Group. For updates regarding Seattle School District and educational advocacy topics.
- Email Seattle School Board President Topp – As you’ve likely seen, the district has projected enrollment numbers for 2025-2026 to drop, which will lead to additional loss of staff, because they are not moving students off the waitlist. Email our school board to ask the district to please move the waitlist to fill our school to capacity and not lose more families to private school options.
- April 5th 2025 – A date plan for advocacy on a variety of topics including education. There will be many options to talk with state representatives this day. One easy way is to phone or email. https://5calls.org/ (a super easy way to reach out quickly for those of us who are introverts.). Find your state representative: https://app.leg.wa.gov/memberemail/
With appreciation of our shared community,
Your PTSA Board
