The Auction is Coming! Save the Date!

Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 30, 2019! It is the best party of the year!

The 2019 Hazel Wolf PTSA Auction and Parent Social Fundraiser will be held at Shoreline Community College. Tickets don’t go on sale until January 11, but we are already gearing up for an amazing night. We need everyone’s help to make this event a success. You should have received a Save the Date announcement via Kidmail along with a Frequently Asked Questions and donor form. You can also find them online at

If you have questions or you want to help in a bigger way, email

We look forward to seeing you tonight (Wednesday, Nov. 28) in the Cafetorium at 6:30 p.m. for “Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety” (56-minute film followed by a panel discussion with local health professionals). This film is appropriate for ages 10 and up. Childcare will be provided by a group of middle school students on site in the library (donations are appreciated).

Chipotle Fundraiser for Hazel Wolf PTSA

On Tuesday, November 27, from 4 to 8 p.m., Chipotle at Northgate Mall will be donating 33% of proceeds back to our school. Come eat for a good cause, hang out with other Wolf Pack families and don’t forget to mention you’re from Hazel Wolf! (No online orders, in person only.) You can also bring in this flyer, which also went home in Kidmail (or show it on your smartphone).

Free Screening of “Angst” on Nov. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cafetorium

Hazel Wolf K-8 PTSA is sponsoring screenings at Hazel Wolf of the important IndieFlix documentary, “Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety.”

The evening screening on Wednesday, November 28 will include a viewing of the 56-minute film followed by a panel discussion with local health professionals. This film is appropriate for ages 10 and up. Childcare will be provided by a group of middle school students on site in the library, and donations are appreciated.

Our middle school students will be viewing this film during school on a different day followed by a discussion with our school counselors and teachers. Middle school parents: this is a great opportunity to gain the same information your child is learning to continue the conversation at home.

For more information on the film and on anxiety disorders, please download the flyer.

Get Ready to Read-A-Thon

It’s nearly time for the annual Hazel Wolf Read-A-Thon! Our goal this year is to increase student participation (last year we only had 18 percent of our students participate). Need help asking for pledges? Encourage your kids go see Ms. Fournier in the library, as there are a few local businesses who want to sponsor kids, and a lot of teachers do, too! We’re excited to expand this great community event that is designed to inspire the love of reading—and directly benefit our students by raising funds for the PTSA.

The reading period starts November 13 (which is also Literacy Night!) and goes through November 25 (the last day of Thanksgiving break). Packets are going home in Kidmail this week with all the details. You can also find the packet for download and more information on the PTSA website.

Happy reading, everyone!

Key Dates:

  • November 9 – Start collecting sponsor pledges/donations
  • November 13 – Start reading
  • November 25 – Last day of Read-A-Thon
  • November 30 – Students turn in their official minute recording sheets
