Afterschool Enrichment Info: Register Now for Apr. 30-Jun. 22 Session, Reserve a Spot for Next Year

Registration for the next session of afterschool enrichment classes is now open! This is the last session of the year and it runs from April 30 to June 22. Classes are Monday through Friday after school until as late as 5:45 p.m., and there are three class times on Wednesday to accommodate early release (two class times the rest of the week).

Also, the Y shared with us that Healthy Kids Day is this Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University Family Y. There are a ton of fun giveaways, summer camp information/registration, and fun for the entire family. This is a free event. (Download the flyer)

For Enrichment Pass Families: For online registration, use the coupon code 17KIDSU100 to register. This should make your cart total $0, since you already pay a monthly fee. If the coupon code is not working for you, please fill out this registration form and turn the form in to the YMCA Youth Program Director Miranda Gadau ( or our site supervisor Maddie Shirk (

Note: The Enrichment Pass option includes all five days and all class times (including early release on Wednesday) for $495/month ($440/month if you are a YMCA member). There is definitely cost savings with the Enrichment Pass if you need care every day.

Individual classes are $110 per session ($100 per session for YMCA members); however, Fast Break Basketball on Wednesday, Carpentry on Thursday and Martial Arts on Friday are being provided by outside vendors and are $165 per session. Also, Microsoft Club is a two-hour class and is therefore $220 per session ($200 per session for YMCA members). (All classes are onsite at Hazel Wolf, except the Microsoft classes. The YMCA has its own transportation and will bus kids signed up for those classes from school, to the offsite locations, and back by 4:45 pickup on Wednesday or 5:45 pickup on Thursday.)

  • Let’s Sing (3:35-4:45 p.m.) – learn and sing a variety of modern folk songs
  • Run the Bases (3:35-4:45 p.m.) – all games that involve bases (baseball, kickball, ultimate pickle, etc.)
  • National Park Road Trip Pt. 2 (3:35-4:45 p.m.) – “visiting” national parks, exploring nature, animals and more
  • Deal! (4:45-5:45 p.m.) – classic card games
  • Think Tank (4:45-5:45 p.m.) – homework help, worksheets/interactive games, reading time


  • Tag Extravaganza (3:35-4:45 p.m.) – tag variations
  • Kid’s U Pen Pals (3:35-4:45 p.m.) – exchange letters, letter-writing skills
  • Dot to Dot: Extreme (3:35-4:45 p.m.) – intricate pictures using the dot-to-dot method
  • Drama Club (4:45-5:45 p.m.) – develop acting, singing and public speaking skills
  • Think Tank (4:45-5:45 p.m.) – homework help, worksheets/interactive games, reading time

Wednesday (early release)

  • Fast Break Basketball with Overtime Athletics (2:20-3:35 p.m.) – game play and skills stations ($165/session)
  • Hip Hop (2:20-3:35 p.m.) – style and culture of hip hop dance

  • Dodgeball (3:35-4:45 p.m.) – new variations of dodgeball each week
  • Psychology for Kids! (3:35-4:45 p.m.) – explore how the brain works
  • Tiny Town (3:35-4:45 p.m.) – become city builders to create a tiny town
  • Kid’s U Spa (4:45-5:45 p.m.) *15 kids only*– make body scrubs, face masks and more

  • Imagination Station (3:35-4:45 p.m.) – channel your imagination in new and different ways
  • 3D Fuse Beads (3:35-4:45 p.m.) – making 3D projects such as cars, cubes and more
